Piccolo Bar is a Kings Cross icon reborn — Sydney’s oldest licensed café turned intimate cocktail bar by hospitality veteran Dave Spanton. It keeps its soul but swaps espresso for Negronis, vermouth and martinis, poured behind a long wooden bar lined with vintage photos. The space is small, the atmosphere warm, and the music always just right. A few bar snacks, a few seats on the footpath, and a crowd that knows good drinks when they find them.
