Bloom

Nestled in a Victorian house, on leafy Kellett St, House is one part bar and one part bistro; but really it’s like stepping into the welcoming home of your most accomplished Italian-chef friend. Quirky interiors - chandelier lighting, white table settings, draped windows, a bath tub! - add to the homely vibe.

The food gives comfort too with a simple, seasonal, ever-changing menu and a range of international wines and cocktails. Sourdough bread, pizzas and freshly-made pastas. Free range meats and locally caught seafood. And a great range of vegetarian choices as well. Chef Mauro’s choices are a feast for all the senses.

Enjoy starters like pork belly with white cabbage and seeded mustard on sourdough; or marinated sardines, capsicum and zucchini flowers. For the mains include sous vide big eye ocean perch, poached beetroot and Tuscan cabbage, or spelt tagliolini with clams, garlic and mussel dust; home-made  gelato and lemon sorbet finish off the meal.
